Raleigh Green Gables

Organize Your Life

Meet the Intern

November 13, 2013

Today, I introduce to you, Jillian, the intern here at the world headquarters of Raleigh Green Gables.

Jillian, the intern.

Jillian, the intern.

While lots of old folks moan about the younger generation who text instead of talk, Jillian gives me hope in the future. She is reliable, responsible, mature, organized and a great writer. You will see her on this blog.

(And Mom, now you can lay off about whether I am successful, because I have an intern!)

So let’s get to know Jillian:

Q: What is your first organizing memory?

A: When I was 5, my mother took me with her to a neighbor’s house. When she hadn’t seen or heard from me for some time, she came to find me in a back bedroom picking things up off the floor and making beds. My mother was mortified.

Q: How is your sock drawer organized?

A: I have a fabulous lingerie drawer insert that separates my socks by style.

Q: How would you organize a bowl of M&M’s?

A: Color coordinated, in rainbow order, preferably with the ‘M’ logos all facing up.

Q: On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is this internship?

A: 10 – duh!

Q: Confess your secret, guilty, pleasure. (I am your boss. I demand it. FYI, we have no HR department.)

A: I love to rap. Turn on any Jay Z song and I will know every lyric

Q: Swiffer Wet Jet or mop? (Disclosure: In case you are wondering, we did not receive perks for this question.)

A: Ewww. Swiffer Wet Jet for sure!

Q: What’s the first thing that pops into your mind when you wake up every morning?

A: I wonder what the weather is like in New York City today.

Q: So you’re organizing the entire world, where do you start?

A: Honey Boo Boo’s house. There are no words. (Disclosure: In case you are wondering, we did not receive perks for this answer.)

Q: Describe your most meaningful trip to the grocery store:

A: Last week I didn’t get carded when I bought a bottle of wine. I’m not an adult yet, right???

Q: On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is this internship?

A: Really, Leah? 10. Final answer.

Q: List three R-words describing why joined the Raleigh Green Gables team to de-clutter the Triangle and eventually the world:

A: Rainbows: you only get one at the end of a storm; RGG will help you find yours!

Refresh: it shouldn’t have to be New Years or Springtime for you to refresh your home and life. Refreshing moments should happen all the time!

Respect: I’m all about taking charge and owning your life. You’ve got to have enough respect for yourself to clean up and out!

Leah Friedman
Hello!
I'm a professional organizer in Raleigh, North Carolina, helping people declutter their homes and work spaces.

Testimonials

After working with Leah Friedman, the room looked and felt calm, rather than chaotic. When I am overwhelmed again, I will certainly hire her expertise and energy. What an investment in order, calm and piece of mind!

Leah Friedman turned a wretched job into fun! It’s true. She even had me laughing. She is worth every penny. We plowed through two closets. They are now nicely organized, and I know where to find my clothes. I even know what I own. Leah hauled about six bags of give-aways to Interact. I heartily recommend Leah. She gets the job done! She a combo of firm, gentle and fun. Just what I needed.

I love the way my master closet looks, and my husband is very happy, too. Thank you so much for helping me through the whole process. I still can’t believe how much work we got done.

Leah helped me to organize several spaces in my home that have been on my “to do” list for years. She arrived on time, ready to tackle the projects, and made something I dreaded doing lots of fun! She never judges, is always encouraging and gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend her!
