Do you have tons of old makeup underneath your bathroom sink?
I am here to tell you, it’s not worth the money to buy lots of makeup because makeup goes bad.
And unlike food or drug companies, makeup manufactures don’t have to put expiration dates on their products.
Mascara, for instance, only lasts a few months. I remember going to the doctor with an eye infection, and her first question to me was, “How old is your mascara?” Then she told me about all the bacteria that old mascara grows.
(Here is a good article from Seventeen Magazine about how long makeup lasts.)
I am all about looking my best — even though my husband begs me not to use makeup. He likes the natural look. But you only need one mascara at a time, and a few eye shadows, not 10.
So ladies (and guys, who are TV anchors), throw out all that old make up. Trust me. I know you spent a ton of money on it, but you will save the money by not visiting the doctor.
Once you throw out the makeup you’ve had since high school, go visit my friend Julie Hafer, who owns Beauty Ethics. She carries the skincare line Paula’s Choice. It’s great quality, and it’s affordable. So if it expires, you can happily throw it out.
P.S. — I get no perks from mentioning Julie. She does not even know she is getting mentioned! I truly love her services and her product line. I’ve even returned makeup to the mall because her line is so much better. It’s all I use, and I get a lot of compliments on my skin.
P.P.S. — Get up off the couch right now and go throw out that make up.
P.P.P.S — NOW!
