People like you love to tell me how you are cleaning out your garage! Closet! Bedroom! On your own.
I am so happy for you because I’m not just organizing for clients. I am also trying to change our culture that is obsessed with buying more and more things to the point we are in major debt or sick.
I am excited for you because you are willing to change. Having less stuff will make you happier. Plus, when you are organized, you cherish and use the items you have.
But, may I interrupt you right there? Here’s a pro tip: Organizing will go faster and easier if you partner with an expert.
You wouldn’t do therapy on your own, or legal work. Some even hire a professional trainer at the gym. So why are you organizing on your own?
I think there are several reasons:
1. You don’t think you deserve such a luxurious service. I know, however, that you drop $250 at Target in one trip. Three hours of organizing is less than that. Plus, you feel better organizing than spending more money on things you don’t need.
You deserve this:
2. You are scared to confront the amount of stuff you own. If you really want to change, though, you need to get uncomfortable and deal with the mess. I am here to interrupt the voices in your head that tell you to keep the 12-pack of sticky notes you think you will use one day. I am here to gently walk you through the process of change. You do not need this much stuff.
3. You are embarrassed to have me over. I am sorry to tell you, but you are average when it comes to having too much stuff. Every client I’ve helped has had the same old story: You buy a big, beautiful home. Then over the years, you fill up every closet, the basement and the attic with stuff. Then, you get to a point where you can’t breathe. That’s when you call me.
I have never gasped at the sight of a home. I get energized when I see stuff that needs to be organized. That’s my job. And, keep in mind, it’s not my stuff. I have no attachment to it, so there is absolutely no judgement. I am here to help you!
4. You think it will take a week to organize a room. When you hire an organizing expert, the project moves very quickly. I keep you focused on the task. And it is less overwhelming with help, so you are less likely to quit in the middle. I also know where to donate your items, who to call to haul away large items and who to call to sell your items. The best part is I make it fun.
This over-stuffed, walk-in pantry took one hour to organize. ONE HOUR!
So keep telling me how you are organizing your homes. I love hearing it. But you deserve to have a partner on your journey. And, when you are ready, I am here for you.
